O aumento da dureza melhora a resist\u00eancia ao desgaste, mas reduz a tenacidade. Sob alta press\u00e3o interna, podem desenvolver-se tens\u00f5es de tra\u00e7\u00e3o localizadas, tornando os a\u00e7os fr\u00e1geis propensos a fissuras.<br>A sele\u00e7\u00e3o deve, portanto, seguir o modo de falha predominante. Em condi\u00e7\u00f5es de desgaste intenso, maior dureza e teor de carbonetos melhoram a vida \u00fatil da matriz. Quando h\u00e1 risco de trincas, a tenacidade torna-se o fator limitante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Polibilidade<\/strong><br>O acabamento superficial afeta diretamente o atrito e o fluxo de material.
