Os carbonetos formados pelo elemento W constituem a fase de t\u00eampera do a\u00e7o, resultando em alta dureza e resist\u00eancia ao desgaste ap\u00f3s t\u00eampera e revenimento em baixa temperatura, mantendo boa tenacidade. Este a\u00e7o apresenta m\u00e1xima resist\u00eancia \u00e0 flex\u00e3o e tenacidade quando temperado a 800 \u00b0C. A tenacidade ao impacto atinge seu menor valor quando revenido em torno de 300 \u00b0C; portanto, o revenimento nessa temperatura deve ser evitado. O a\u00e7o \u00e9 sens\u00edvel \u00e0 forma\u00e7\u00e3o de carbonetos em rede.
