El desgaste aumenta las dimensiones; el rozamiento y la adhesi\u00f3n da\u00f1an el acabado; las resinas corrosivas atacan la cavidad; y las piezas comienzan a pegarse durante la eyecci\u00f3n. El acero para herramientas templado en toda su masa que se seleccione determina la resistencia del n\u00facleo y la dureza del material, pero el tratamiento superficial decide c\u00f3mo se comporta el molde en la segunda mitad de su vida \u00fatil. Los tres tratamientos m\u00e1s comunes son la nitruraci\u00f3n, la deposici\u00f3n f\u00edsica de vapor (PVD) y el cromado duro. Cada uno se adapta a un conjunto diferente de grados de acero, y la combinaci\u00f3n incorrecta de tratamiento y acero base es una causa com\u00fan de falla prematura del recubrimiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esta gu\u00eda cubre la ingenier\u00eda de superficies para moldes y matrices ya construidos con acero para herramientas templado en toda su masa. Si est\u00e1 seleccionando un acero con bajo contenido de carbono para ser carburizado para engranajes, ejes u otras piezas estructurales, esa es una decisi\u00f3n diferente, cubierta en nuestra gu\u00eda para <a href=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/es\/blog\/case-hardening-steel-guide\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/blog\/case-hardening-steel-guide\/\">acero de cementaci\u00f3n<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-nitriding\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nitruraci\u00f3n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La nitruraci\u00f3n es un proceso de difusi\u00f3n termoqu\u00edmica que introduce nitr\u00f3geno at\u00f3mico en la superficie del acero para formar una capa dura y resistente al desgaste. Dado que se realiza por debajo de la temperatura de transformaci\u00f3n de fase del acero, no se requiere enfriamiento, por lo que la distorsi\u00f3n y el cambio dimensional son muy bajos. Esto la hace atractiva para herramientas acabadas donde la geometr\u00eda debe mantenerse. El mecanismo de difusi\u00f3n subyacente es el mismo que se describe en la secci\u00f3n de nitruraci\u00f3n de nuestro documento. <a href=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/es\/blog\/case-hardening-steel-guide\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/blog\/case-hardening-steel-guide\/\">gu\u00eda de endurecimiento superficial<\/a>; Esta secci\u00f3n se centra en c\u00f3mo se aplica a los moldes y matrices de acero para herramientas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La nitruraci\u00f3n gaseosa se realiza en atm\u00f3sfera de amon\u00edaco, generalmente entre 495 y 565 \u00b0C. La nitruraci\u00f3n por plasma, tambi\u00e9n llamada nitruraci\u00f3n i\u00f3nica, se lleva a cabo en una c\u00e1mara de vac\u00edo, donde una descarga de alto voltaje genera un plasma que impulsa iones de nitr\u00f3geno hacia la pieza. La nitruraci\u00f3n por plasma puede operar a temperaturas m\u00e1s bajas, hasta aproximadamente 375 \u00b0C, lo que reduce a\u00fan m\u00e1s la distorsi\u00f3n y proporciona un control dimensional m\u00e1s preciso. Adem\u00e1s, permite enmascarar las \u00e1reas que deben permanecer blandas, lo cual es importante en moldes con orificios roscados o elementos de referencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La raz\u00f3n por la que la nitruraci\u00f3n es un tratamiento para aceros de herramientas y no para aceros al carbono simples radica en su composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica. Requiere aceros que contengan elementos formadores de nitruros, como cromo, molibdeno, vanadio y aluminio. En la pr\u00e1ctica, esto apunta directamente a los aceros para trabajo en caliente y en fr\u00edo que ya se utilizan para la fabricaci\u00f3n de herramientas. <a href=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/es\/h13-tool-steel\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/h13-tool-steel\/\">H13<\/a> Responde excepcionalmente bien y se nitrura de forma rutinaria para su uso en moldes de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n y extrusi\u00f3n, donde el desgaste superficial y la erosi\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica provocan fallos. <a href=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/es\/d2-tool-steel\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/d2-tool-steel\/\">D2<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/es\/a2-tool-steel\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/a2-tool-steel\/\">A2<\/a>, Ambos, con alto contenido de cromo, tambi\u00e9n responden bien a la nitruraci\u00f3n cuando se necesita una superficie de matriz dura y apta para el trabajo en fr\u00edo sin un paso de recubrimiento adicional. El acero para moldes de pl\u00e1stico P20 es otro candidato com\u00fan. Una capa nitrurada alcanza aproximadamente 65-70 HRC y hasta unos 1100 HV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El punto clave a controlar es la capa blanca, una fina capa compuesta de nitruros de hierro en la superficie m\u00e1s externa. Es muy dura, pero tambi\u00e9n fr\u00e1gil, y puede desprenderse o astillarse al recibir un impacto. Para trabajos sensibles a las grietas, como los moldes de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n, la capa blanca debe minimizarse o eliminarse, algo que la nitruraci\u00f3n por plasma moderna logra con \u00e9xito. Si el molde se somete a cargas de impacto, consulte con el taller de tratamiento sobre el control de la capa blanca antes de introducir las piezas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-physical-vapor-deposition-pvd\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deposici\u00f3n f\u00edsica de vapor (PVD)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La PVD es un proceso de vac\u00edo a baja temperatura que deposita una pel\u00edcula cer\u00e1mica delgada y ultradura sobre la superficie del molde. Dentro de una c\u00e1mara de alto vac\u00edo, un objetivo s\u00f3lido se atomiza mediante evaporaci\u00f3n por arco o pulverizaci\u00f3n cat\u00f3dica; el metal vaporizado reacciona con un gas como nitr\u00f3geno o carbono, y el compuesto se condensa sobre el molde. Las pel\u00edculas m\u00e1s comunes son nitruro de titanio (TiN, del conocido color dorado), carbonitruro de titanio (TiCN), nitruro de titanio y aluminio (TiAlN) y nitruro de cromo (CrN). Estos recubrimientos tienen un espesor de tan solo 2 a 5 \u00b5m y a menudo superan los 70 HRC, por lo que proporcionan una dureza superficial extrema sin alterar las estrictas tolerancias del molde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dos propiedades hacen que la PVD sea f\u00e1cil de integrar en un flujo de trabajo de utillaje terminado. Se realiza a temperaturas de entre 200 y 550 \u00b0C, por debajo de la temperatura de revenido de la mayor\u00eda de los aceros para herramientas, por lo que un molde completamente endurecido y acabado puede recubrirse sin ablandamiento, deformaci\u00f3n ni ning\u00fan tratamiento t\u00e9rmico posterior al recubrimiento. Adem\u00e1s, dado que la deposici\u00f3n es un proceso de l\u00ednea de visi\u00f3n, los \u00e1tomos se desplazan en l\u00ednea recta, por lo que las geometr\u00edas complejas y las cavidades profundas requieren fijaciones giratorias para un recubrimiento uniforme, y los orificios ciegos verdaderos siguen siendo una limitaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El acero base determina la durabilidad del recubrimiento PVD. La pel\u00edcula es delgada y r\u00edgida, por lo que el sustrato subyacente debe ser lo suficientemente duro para soportar la carga sin deformarse. El m\u00ednimo pr\u00e1ctico es de aproximadamente 43 HRC. En un sustrato m\u00e1s blando, el recubrimiento se flexiona con el acero y se agrieta, un fallo conocido como efecto c\u00e1scara de huevo. Por ello, los aceros para trabajo en fr\u00edo endurecidos a valores entre 50 y 60 HRC, como el D2 o el A2, son buenos sustratos PVD, mientras que una base de molde blanda no lo es. Cuando el soporte del n\u00facleo es limitado, se utiliza un tratamiento d\u00faplex: primero se nitrura el molde para crear una capa de soporte y luego se aplica el recubrimiento PVD. El acabado superficial tambi\u00e9n es importante. El molde debe pulirse hasta obtener un acabado fino, con una rugosidad media (Ra) inferior a 1 \u00b5m, antes del recubrimiento, ya que las crestas y los surcos crean concentraciones de tensi\u00f3n que provocan el fallo de la pel\u00edcula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-hard-chrome-plating\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cromado duro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El cromado duro es un proceso de galvanoplastia que confiere a los moldes una alta dureza superficial, baja fricci\u00f3n y buena resistencia a la corrosi\u00f3n. El cromo se deposita a partir de un ba\u00f1o de \u00e1cido cr\u00f3mico a baja temperatura, entre 60 y 70 \u00b0C. En el caso de los moldes de pl\u00e1stico, la capa suele tener un espesor de entre 5 y 13 \u00b5m, aunque se pueden aplicar dep\u00f3sitos mucho m\u00e1s gruesos, de hasta aproximadamente 0,25 mm, para recuperar y reconstruir superficies de matrices desgastadas. La dureza tras el cromado oscila entre 62 y 72 HRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La principal ventaja del cromo reside en su capacidad de liberaci\u00f3n. Reduce el coeficiente de fricci\u00f3n, mejorando as\u00ed el flujo del material hacia la cavidad y facilitando la expulsi\u00f3n de la pieza. Es la opci\u00f3n est\u00e1ndar para moldes de inyecci\u00f3n de pl\u00e1stico que utilizan resinas corrosivas como el PVC, donde el \u00e1cido clorh\u00eddrico liberado durante el moldeo podr\u00eda da\u00f1ar el acero. El cromo protege la cavidad de este ataque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Existen limitaciones reales. Cualquier rasgu\u00f1o o irregularidad en el molde se transparenta a trav\u00e9s del recubrimiento y se magnifica, por lo que un pulido de alta calidad antes del recubrimiento es indispensable. Los aceros para herramientas pueden sufrir fragilizaci\u00f3n por hidr\u00f3geno durante el recubrimiento, lo que requiere un horneado posterior para aliviarla. El cromo tiende a astillarse o desprenderse en los bordes afilados, por lo que no es adecuado para geometr\u00edas con bordes afilados o donde el pl\u00e1stico contiene cloruros ign\u00edfugos. Adem\u00e1s, dado que el recubrimiento uniforme de cavidades profundas depende de \u00e1nodos conformes, es dif\u00edcil recubrir de manera uniforme geometr\u00edas internas muy complejas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-matching-the-treatment-to-the-steel\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adaptaci\u00f3n del tratamiento al acero<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El acero base no es un detalle que deba definirse una vez elegido el tratamiento. Ambas decisiones est\u00e1n vinculadas. La nitruraci\u00f3n requiere un contenido de aleaci\u00f3n formadora de nitruros en grados como H13, D2 y A2. La PVD necesita un sustrato lo suficientemente duro como para soportar una pel\u00edcula r\u00edgida delgada, lo que descarta bases blandas y favorece grados de trabajo en fr\u00edo y en caliente debidamente endurecidos, o una pila d\u00faplex de nitruraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s PVD. La nitruraci\u00f3n depende de que el cromo, el molibdeno y el vanadio est\u00e9n presentes en las especificaciones, ya que estos elementos forman los nitruros que confieren dureza al material. El recubrimiento PVD depende de que el sustrato alcance y mantenga la dureza necesaria para la formaci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula. El cromado requiere una superficie limpia y s\u00f3lida que permita un recubrimiento uniforme.
