El acero forjado es una subcategor\u00eda espec\u00edfica del acero forjado; es decir, todo acero forjado es acero forjado, pero no todo acero forjado es forjado. Una vez que se comprende la relaci\u00f3n entre ambos t\u00e9rminos, la mayor parte de la confusi\u00f3n desaparece, incluyendo el caso com\u00fan en el que un plano o un certificado de f\u00e1brica utiliza una palabra, mientras que un proveedor utiliza otra. El forjado en caliente elimina la porosidad central y la contracci\u00f3n heredadas del lingote fundido.
