Es uno de los grados de carburaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s utilizados, elegido para engranajes, ejes, pasadores y otras piezas que requieren una superficie dura y resistente al desgaste sobre un n\u00facleo resistente y d\u00factil. En las normas chinas, corresponde al 20CrNiMo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El acero 8620 no es un acero para herramientas. Es un acero de ingenier\u00eda con cementaci\u00f3n. Su contenido de carbono es de tan solo un 0,20 %, por lo que no puede endurecerse completamente hasta alcanzar la dureza de un acero para herramientas. Incluso con un endurecimiento total, la martensita con este nivel de carbono alcanza una dureza de solo 40-45 HRC. La pieza acabada presenta dos zonas diferenciadas: una capa exterior dura para resistir el desgaste y un n\u00facleo blando y resistente para soportar cargas de impacto y flexi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tras un ciclo completo de carburaci\u00f3n y revenido, el n\u00facleo presenta una dureza de 30 a 42 HRC, con buena tenacidad y ductilidad. La superficie carburizada alcanza los 58-63 HRC, con una profundidad de capa t\u00edpica de 0,5 a 2,0 mm, dependiendo del tiempo y la temperatura de carburaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Una secuencia t\u00edpica de tratamiento t\u00e9rmico es:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carburizar a unos 925 \u00b0C en una atm\u00f3sfera rica en carbono, durante varias horas dependiendo de la profundidad de la capa objetivo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dejar enfriar y luego volver a calentar a unos 840\u2013870 \u00b0C para refinar el grano.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enfriamiento con aceite.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Templar a unos 150-200 \u00b0C para mantener la dureza de la capa exterior.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-applications\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aplicaciones<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El modelo 8620 es adecuado para piezas que necesitan una superficie dura y un n\u00facleo resistente al mismo tiempo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>engranajes de transmisi\u00f3n automotriz<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engranajes y pi\u00f1ones diferenciales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00c1rboles de levas y seguidores de leva<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pasadores de pivote y pasadores de mu\u00f1eca<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Casquillos y cojinetes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ejes de servicio medio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eslabones y pasadores de cadena<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El n\u00facleo resistente soporta cargas de impacto y flexi\u00f3n, mientras que la capa exterior dura resiste el desgaste y mejora la resistencia a la fatiga superficial. La capa carburizada tambi\u00e9n presenta una tensi\u00f3n residual de compresi\u00f3n beneficiosa, lo que aumenta a\u00fan m\u00e1s la vida \u00fatil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-8620-vs-tool-steel\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Acero 8620 frente a acero para herramientas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El acero 8620 y el acero para herramientas resuelven problemas diferentes. No se puede rectificar repetidamente, ya que cada rectificado elimina parte de la capa, y una vez que esta desaparece, la pieza se desgasta r\u00e1pidamente. Un acero para herramientas templado en toda su masa se puede rectificar muchas veces. Por la misma raz\u00f3n, el acero 8620 no es adecuado para herramientas de corte: el filo solo es tan duro como la capa, por lo que, a medida que esta se desgasta, el filo se pierde. Tampoco es adecuado para trabajos en caliente, donde la capa se sobretempla y el n\u00facleo carece de resistencia en caliente, ni para matrices de alta compresi\u00f3n, donde incluso una capa de 60 HRC es demasiado delgada para soportar cargas de conformado pesadas. El n\u00facleo blando se deforma bajo la capa, lo que provoca que esta se agriete o se desprenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-when-8620-is-the-right-choice\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cuando 8620 es la elecci\u00f3n correcta<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El acero 8620 es el material id\u00f3neo para engranajes y ejes sometidos a cargas de flexi\u00f3n e impacto, que requieren un n\u00facleo de gran resistencia. Funciona bien en aplicaciones donde el desgaste se concentra en la superficie, donde una forma compleja se deformar\u00eda gravemente con un endurecimiento total y donde la alta resistencia a la fatiga es fundamental, ya que la capa carburizada genera tensiones residuales de compresi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-common-misconceptions\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conceptos err\u00f3neos comunes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cEl acero 8620 se puede endurecer como el acero para herramientas.\u201d<\/strong> No es posible. Con aproximadamente un 0,20 % de carbono, el temple convencional no permite la formaci\u00f3n de martensita con la dureza necesaria. La superficie debe carburizarse previamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201c8620 es una alternativa m\u00e1s econ\u00f3mica a <a href=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/es\/o1-tool-steel\/\">O1<\/a> o <a href=\"https:\/\/aobosteel.com\/es\/a2-tool-steel\/\">A2<\/a> para morir.\u201d<\/strong> No lo es. Su n\u00facleo blando y su carcasa delgada lo hacen inadecuado para troqueles o herramientas de corte, y un troquel 8620 se estropear\u00eda r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cLos compuestos 8620 y D2 son similares porque ambos contienen cromo.\u201d<\/strong> No lo son. El acero D2 contiene aproximadamente un 12 % de cromo, que forma carburos que mejoran la resistencia al desgaste. El acero 8620 contiene entre un 0,4 % y un 0,6 % de cromo \u00fanicamente para mejorar su templabilidad.
