En la fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n de aluminio, magnesio y zinc, la superficie del molde se calienta repetidamente con metal fundido y se enfr\u00eda r\u00e1pidamente mediante refrigeraci\u00f3n por pulverizaci\u00f3n o agua. Este ciclo t\u00e9rmico puede provocar fisuras por calor, agrietamiento, reblandecimiento, erosi\u00f3n y soldadura. El acero H13 es ampliamente elegido porque puede retrasar estos modos de falla mejor que muchos aceros aleados de uso general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El acero para herramientas de trabajo en caliente 5%, aleado con cromo, molibdeno y vanadio, conserva su resistencia y dureza a altas temperaturas. Esto es fundamental, ya que los moldes de fundici\u00f3n deben operar bajo exposici\u00f3n repetida a altas temperaturas sin perder dureza con demasiada rapidez. Su resistencia al revenido y al ablandamiento ayuda a que la cavidad del molde mantenga su forma y superficie de trabajo durante ciclos de producci\u00f3n m\u00e1s prolongados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El H13 tambi\u00e9n presenta una buena resistencia al agrietamiento t\u00e9rmico, uno de los modos de falla m\u00e1s comunes en los moldes de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n. El agrietamiento t\u00e9rmico se manifiesta como finas grietas superficiales causadas por ciclos repetidos de calentamiento y enfriamiento. Si bien el H13 no puede eliminar el agrietamiento t\u00e9rmico, su equilibrio entre resistencia a altas temperaturas, resistencia a la fatiga t\u00e9rmica y tenacidad contribuye a ralentizar la iniciaci\u00f3n y propagaci\u00f3n de las grietas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La tenacidad es otra raz\u00f3n por la que el acero H13 es el preferido para las herramientas de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n. El molde est\u00e1 expuesto no solo al calor, sino tambi\u00e9n a alta presi\u00f3n de inyecci\u00f3n, choque t\u00e9rmico y cargas mec\u00e1nicas repetidas. En comparaci\u00f3n con los aceros de trabajo en fr\u00edo de alto contenido de carbono y alta resistencia al desgaste, el H13 presenta una mayor resistencia al agrietamiento repentino y a la fractura fr\u00e1gil bajo estas tensiones combinadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la fundici\u00f3n de aluminio a presi\u00f3n, el H13 tambi\u00e9n se valora por su resistencia a la erosi\u00f3n, al lavado de metales y a la soldadura. Su contenido de vanadio mejora la resistencia al desgaste mediante la formaci\u00f3n de carburos duros, mientras que los tratamientos superficiales, como la nitruraci\u00f3n, pueden aumentar a\u00fan m\u00e1s la dureza superficial y mejorar la resistencia al desgaste y la adhesi\u00f3n del metal fundido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde el punto de vista de la fabricaci\u00f3n, el acero H13 es id\u00f3neo para componentes de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n grandes y complejos.
