El acero O1 no presenta el mismo comportamiento de endurecimiento secundario que el acero D2. La dureza real puede variar seg\u00fan la temperatura de austenizaci\u00f3n, el tiempo de remojo, la velocidad de enfriamiento en aceite, el tama\u00f1o de la secci\u00f3n, el tiempo de revenido y la posici\u00f3n de la prueba.<\/div>\n      <p>Para la mayor\u00eda de las herramientas O1, el rango de revenido com\u00fan es de aproximadamente 150\u2013260 \u00b0C (300\u2013500 \u00b0F). Este rango mantiene el O1 en una condici\u00f3n \u00fatil de alta dureza para herramientas de trabajo en fr\u00edo. Las temperaturas de revenido m\u00e1s altas mejoran la tenacidad, pero reducen la dureza y la resistencia al desgaste. Este estado se utiliza para la preparaci\u00f3n de mecanizado, taladrado, fresado, torneado y rectificado antes del endurecimiento.<\/p>\n      <p>En comparaci\u00f3n con el D2, el O1 es m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de mecanizar debido a su menor fracci\u00f3n volum\u00e9trica de carburo de aleaci\u00f3n. Esta es una de las razones por las que el O1 se utiliza ampliamente en herramientas de uso general, calibres, dispositivos de fijaci\u00f3n, punzones y matrices peque\u00f1as.<\/p>\n      <p>El mecanizado principal debe completarse antes del endurecimiento. La dureza por s\u00ed sola no explica la vida \u00fatil de la herramienta.
