En cada ciclo, el molde absorbe y libera calor continuamente, por lo que funciona no solo como una herramienta de conformado, sino tambi\u00e9n como un componente sometido a cargas t\u00e9rmicas repetidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la producci\u00f3n, el da\u00f1o en los troqueles no es aleatorio. Generalmente se produce bajo la interacci\u00f3n de tres condiciones. La superficie se calienta repetidamente con metal fundido y luego se enfr\u00eda r\u00e1pidamente, lo que genera tensiones c\u00edclicas que, con el tiempo, provocan fisuras por calor. Al mismo tiempo, la alta presi\u00f3n de inyecci\u00f3n y el r\u00e1pido flujo de metal generan erosi\u00f3n y deformaci\u00f3n localizada. Adem\u00e1s, el contacto continuo con aleaciones fundidas favorece la soldadura y la degradaci\u00f3n de la superficie, especialmente en la fundici\u00f3n de aluminio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo que determina la vida \u00fatil del chip no es la presencia de estas condiciones, sino cu\u00e1l de ellas se vuelve dominante en una aplicaci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factores de selecci\u00f3n para aceros de herramientas de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La selecci\u00f3n de materiales debe comenzar por identificar c\u00f3mo falla realmente el troquel durante su uso, en lugar de comparar las propiedades generales de los materiales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Resistencia a la fatiga t\u00e9rmica (comprobaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica)<br><\/strong>En la mayor\u00eda de los procesos de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n de aluminio y magnesio, los moldes fallan debido al agrietamiento superficial causado por ciclos t\u00e9rmicos repetidos. Cuando las grietas se inician prematuramente y se propagan r\u00e1pidamente, aumentar la dureza no resuelve el problema. Lo que importa m\u00e1s es la capacidad del material para resistir la tensi\u00f3n c\u00edclica y ralentizar el crecimiento de las grietas. En estos casos, se requieren aceros con buena tenacidad y una microestructura estable bajo calentamiento repetido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Resistencia al calor y al templado<br><\/strong>Cuando aumenta la temperatura de fundici\u00f3n, sobre todo en aleaciones de lat\u00f3n o cobre, el modo de fallo suele cambiar. En lugar de agrietarse, el molde puede empezar a ablandarse, deformarse o perder estabilidad dimensional. Si no se puede mantener la dureza superficial durante su uso, el molde fallar\u00e1 incluso si se controla el agrietamiento. En estas condiciones, la resistencia al ablandamiento se vuelve m\u00e1s importante que la tenacidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Equilibrio entre dureza y tenacidad<br><\/strong>Una mayor dureza mejora la resistencia al desgaste y la erosi\u00f3n, pero tambi\u00e9n aumenta el riesgo de propagaci\u00f3n de grietas bajo tensi\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica. Por ello, la mayor\u00eda de los moldes de fundici\u00f3n a presi\u00f3n se utilizan con una dureza de entre 42 y 50 HRC. Por debajo de este rango, la deformaci\u00f3n es m\u00e1s probable. Por encima, el agrietamiento tiende a acelerarse. En estos casos, se utiliza un acero a base de tungsteno, como el H21, ya que conserva su resistencia y dureza a temperaturas m\u00e1s altas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, su menor tenacidad lo hace inadecuado para aplicaciones sometidas a fuertes choques t\u00e9rmicos. Esto lo hace id\u00f3neo para la producci\u00f3n en series cortas o la fundici\u00f3n a baja temperatura, como la del zinc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, bajo cargas t\u00e9rmicas elevadas, especialmente en la fundici\u00f3n de aluminio a presi\u00f3n, el P20 carece de la resistencia al revenido suficiente y se deteriora r\u00e1pidamente.
